What is Christian Blogging?

Blogging has exploded over the internet as of late. It seems as if anyone who has a computer and internet connection also has one or more blogs. If you happen to have been living on a desert island somewhere and don’t know what a blog is, it’s actually quite simple. A blog is an online journal and those that add input to a blog are known as bloggers.

A blog which is actually short for a weblog, can focus on just about anything. There are blogs dedicated to a business, losing weight, dogs, cats, and babies, anything the stretch of the imagination can think of. Even with blogs being so common today there is a term that is not so common, that is a “Christian” Blog or “Christian” Blogging.

Both of those terms are easy to define but may be a bit more difficult to put into action. A Christian Blog is a blog which is devoted to a Christian value and/or geared to a Christian value. A Christian may choose a subject to blog about and then spread God’s word on the subject through what they are writing.

This will become a powerful blog and through God’s blessing may ultimately help many individuals who are drawn to read it. A Christian blog will be assisted by the Lord and through thoughtful pray and devotion the Lord will make the decisions on what shall be written and the direction the blog will ultimately take.

Christian Blogging can be defined as blogging with a Christian heart and using God’s word or having the Lord speak through the blogger to spread a message. Whether it be on the bloggers own blog or commenting on another blog or even guest blogging on non Christian blogs, the blogger will speak the word of the Lord and use his wisdom and guidance on where and what they will say.

A Christian blog or Christian blogging is ultimately led and decided by the Lord. Having the Lord move and speak to you to spread his word is an extremely powerful occurrence.

If you believe in the Lord with all your heart and open you heart to him, he will help and guide you to blog as a Christian would. Do not take this lightly, if the Lord decides to speak to you through blogging represent him proudly and spread his word to all those who will listen and read it.

I have already started a devotional blog

    jennyrosewriter.blogspot.com/

It is for parents, guardians, mentors, grandparents, teachers–anyone who deals with kids especially; because the intent is to build up their self-esteem. Though the perspective is mainly for those dealing with elementary and younger kids, I try to add ideas for older kids and for use in the grown-up world.

Next year, I’m considering a devotional blog for children.

I definitely feel led by God to write these and to write Christian fiction in the coming years. And since I already write scripts for the preschool department at my church, I am already blessed to see God working thorugh me to touch so many lives.
