{QOTW} What Did You Want to Be When You Were Growing Up?

whitequestionmarkWelcome to the CSAHM “Question of the Week.” Please feel free to share your answers, ideas, or thoughts to the “Question of the Week” in the comments section below.

This weeks question:
What did you want to be
when you were growing up?

When I was growing up I wanted to be a business owner. My teachers would ask me “what kind of business?” and I would say “I don’t know, just a BIG business.” SO I wanted to be the CEO of a company. I guess I got my wish, I am CEO of my HOME. ;)

  1. Katherine says:

Most of all I wanted to be a Wife and Mother. I went through a stage of wanting to be a Veterinarian , Police Women or Teacher. I spent several years teaching before realizing my life long ambition – a stay at home mum!

  2. April says:

I remember being asked that in first grade and I said I wanted to be a cashier. I thought that would be the best job ever… pushing buttons and scanning food.

  3. I wanted to be a teacher.. and then I grew up and became a mommy instead (its great I get to teach all the time!)

  4. Lara says:

I wanted to be a school teacher when I was really young and then a model…LOL!

  5. Kristy says:

I always wanted to be a mom, it was what I dreamed about: folding clothes while watching tv as my kids played merrily around me and helped me fold the towels. That is how I envisioned motherhood. Now I am mom to four kids, and although the play is not always merry, I couldn’t be happier to be a mom. I guess now I need to think about what I will be when my kids grow up! (besides a grandmother)

Kristy, your dreams sounded like mine, lol! I always wanted my life to reflect those in the parenting magazines, and on the commercials. I also hoped to be just like my mom, but I’m not, haha!

You ask a great question – what to be when the kid’s grow up! :)

  6. I wanted to be several things all of which consisted of helping others. I thought it would be great to be a Mommy, air line stuwardess, police officer, dental hygenist, or an accountant. Funny thing, God knew my hearts desire the whole time. He has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams. I am married to my best friend and my confidaunt, have two lovely children, and to top it all off God has always been with me through it all. Every change in my life every new home fallowing my beloveds studies and work. Everything God has been in control of and that is the best thing in the world! So, do I have my “dream job”? not what I thought before it came upon me, but I love children and always have. So, to be able to be home with our two little blessings all the time and to have a place to call home where we can have pets and room to run is far more than I ever dreamed of. *big smile* Thanks for reminding me of my many blessings right before my eyes. *smile* Have a lovely day knowing God is love and that He knows the career He would have for us. By the way, I have been focusing on my close to home blessings quite a bit lately. *smile* Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!

Thank you so much for your comment! It’s amazing how God truly works in our lives. I know my mom always told me all she ever wanted to be when she was growing up was a mom, and I remember wanting that too. But along the way I was like you where I was interested in so many other things as well. But when I had my oldest I just knew where I needed to be, and that was home with her.

It is truly a blessing to be a mom. :)
