{QOTW} Favorite Version of the Bible

whitequestionmarkWelcome to the CSAHM “Question of the Week.” Please feel free to share your answers, ideas, or thoughts to the “Question of the Week” in the comments section below.

This weeks question:
What is your favorite version of the Bible?

I think that it’s always nice to have several different versions of the Bible on hand while studying the Bible. However my absolute favrotie (right now) is the New King James version.

I grew up with the King James Version, so the NKJV easily became my favorite as an adult. But in the past couple of years, I have really loved to read the Amplified version – especially for my personal reading and study. I love having the additional expressions and vocabulary to help me fully understand the meaning of the passage I’m reading. It makes it very personal for me.

There is a Parallel study bible that has both the NKJV and the Amplified version – and I’m hoping to get it for Christmas this year. =)

My favorite is NIV because it was the version first given to me when I first got saved. It’s easy to understand and I really like the Study NIV, with notes and room for your own notes. I do like the NKJV and Amplified as well, they are also easy to read.

  3. I absolutely love the NKJV bible and I have a NIV bile, but the NKJV, I’ve described it as a “modern day” KJV that has the mixture of modern with a mixture of the “Shakesperian” language that I enjoy.
