Welcome to the CSAHM “Question of the Week.” Please feel free to share your answers, ideas, or thoughts to the “Question of the Week” in the comments section below.
This weeks question:
Do you volunteer?
If so, where and what do you do?
Right now I’m not volunteering. However over Christmas we served a meal @ a church that is over 75% homeless and it was extremely rewarding. As apart of my New Year goals I plan to sign my oldest daughter and I up to volunteer at a nursing home once a month. That’s all that the Lord has impressed on my heart so far, but I’m thinking He will have more ideas for me soon. I really want to make 2010 about giving more, more of my time and money.

I volunteer every Thursday as a peer counselor at our local crisis pregnancy center and have been doing so for the last eight years. I also use my professional background in public relations & marketing to help the pregnancy center and other nonprofits in our area. I help with Relay for Life as well every year. As a family we try to engage in ministry in our community in different ways throughout the year … from helping at the street ministry downtown to serving Christmas dinner to the women at our domestic abuse home … one of our family’s core values is TO SHARE and we try to be diligent to take advantage of as many opportunities to be engaged in our community as we can.
That is great Teri Lynne! I love your family’s values – to share – that’s so awesome!
I volunteered the past eight years at a food pantry once or twice a week. I have started doing substitute teaching and am not able to volunteer very often now. I really miss it!
My husband and I do help with an addiction ministry where we go to church and try to encourage people who are turning to God to help them overcome their addiction.
