“bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ” 1 Corinthians 13:7 (NKJV)
Endure – to undergo (as a hardship) especially without giving in: Suffer
If I had to tell you how many times I have failed in my relationships, including my relationship with God, I would tell you it is too many to count.
Often in our relationships we get disappointed by others actions. We are all human, we all fail. We all have these expectations on everyone, including God, that also help in making us feel like a relationship has failed and we are disappointed.
But a lot of times we don’t realize that this life is about endurance. The most meaningful relationships are the ones that endured so many trials, pains and hurts.
When we love like Jesus we are less likely to run away from the situation, and instead endure through the trials and the pain.
Jesus’ love was about enduring pain. He knew before His death what pain He was going to endure, and He walked into it without a fight.
To often we are afraid of experiencing pain, and guard our hearts to real everlasting love. Simply because we are afraid of getting hurt again.
Jesus never guarded Himself from the pain He was going to endure, because he knew that love endures all things.
If we aren’t willing to endure through life then we may be missing out on all that God has to offer.
Assignment:
Journal your answers to the following: What is God asking you to endure? How can we show our love to God? Do we love God enough to endure through life, in order to fulfill His purpose, or do we just give up?

Sometimes it’s hard to understand God’s will. You meet someone who seems to be the right person for you, you thank God that he gave you the opportunity to meet that person, and then, when you expect less, you are all alone again. I used to blame god for taking away from me someone i truly loved, but after a while i felt the need to get closer to him again. This is the reason why i decided to start a free bible study by myself, to rebuild my relationship with God. I understand now that this relationship had been tested, and made it stronger in the end. God gave me the chance to keep that person close to me, it was my responsability to make this happen. It’s not God’s fault that i failed.
My faith is in Christ Jesus/God and that combo has been my rock. Life throws curve balls our way that can truly knock us flat on our backs without it seeming that we’ll get back up. But, from my mouth to the Lord’s ears – he knows how much we can bear. I have loved hard and unconditionally both family and friends only to be disappointment many times over. But I know that God is love and he wants us to keep that first and foremost in our hearts. I’m a work in progress and I know that he isn’t finished with me. My #1 goal is to see Jesus one day for and gain eternal life and for that alone I try consistently to build my relationship with him while simultaneously keeping my heart open to love. I also strive to treat others like I want to be treated. We’re all a work in progress – he’s not finished with any of us yet. Be blessed in all you do. Pray for me and my family and I’ll keep the individuals and families here in my prayers the same. God Bless.
