Friday Finances: Vote For What’s Right

I was trying not to get all political on this blog, but honestly it is a little hard not to when we look at who is running and the many issues facing the new President in 2009.

One thing the Lord has been speaking to my heart a lot lately is that as Christians we are required to vote for what’s right and NOT with our pocket book.

With all the financial news out there it is easy to be tempted for the person who will give you the biggest tax break, but that may not be the same person who stands up for the what’s right, and sometimes it can be difficult to make that decision.

With all the talk that is going on about the financial “crisis” the important things can often get covered up and forgotten about. So I would like to encourage ALL of you to learn about the issues and vote for the person that stands up for what is RIGHT not for the person who will give you the biggest tax break, or who passes on the dream of “spreading the wealth.”

I have a lot to say about this issue but I won’t here. Please feel free to join us on our network to discuss voting for what is right and NOT with our pocket books. Hope to see you there!

Christian Movie Review: Made of Honour

Made of Honour has many flaws. I was very disappointed by the amount of sexual innuendos and lack of a positive marriage view.

The main character, Tom is very popular with the ladies and sleeps around quite a bit. There is a lot of scantily clad women throughout the movie. Tom’s Father enters and ends his SIXTH marriage during the movie.

The language was not as bad as some movies I have seen in this genre. However, there was quite a bit of mouth pollution going on. The s, h, d and b words are said throughout the film as well as several variations of God and Jesus’s name being misused. There are also several crude references made in the movie.

Unfortunately, Patrick Dempsey’s good looks could not bring this movie into my good book. This is just not a good movie for a Christian to be watching. It lacks so much that if there are any positives to say they are lost in the mess. I give this movie a 0 out of 4 stars. Sorry Patrick!
