“Me” Time

Lately I have been thinking about how I don’t have enough “me” time. Being a homeschooling mom of three with a husband who works and goes to school, finding “me” time can be a bit of a challenge.

Since I’m homeschooling, “me” time isn’t going to happen when the kids go back to school. When my husband is home we are often spending time together, or working together to make sure this house is running smoothly.

I have already incorporated time with God, time with my husband, and time for my kids. So I had to get a little creative with finding time for me.

Recently my “Me” time has come from getting up early in the morning, establishing a morning routine that is about “me”, and sitting down to enjoy a cup of coffee (whether it be from home or from Starbucks!)

It has actually worked out pretty well. I have also started a nighttime routine all in my efforts to manage my time better, however the routines I have started has been a way for me to carve out some “me” time everyday.

It’s amazing what a little “me” time can actually do – even if it is just 15 minutes a day, it can certainly do wonders on our attitude throughout the day. :)

It is SO essential to take even 5 minutes to just let our brains rest. Mornings are perfect for it – quiet, simple, and with coffee! Learning to enjoy 5 minutes to their fullest can be tricky – but can also mean the difference between smooth sailing and rough weather in my day. Sometimes God speaks to me. Sometimes I just clear my head and focus on the tasks at hand. And sometimes I just enjoy the coffee…

  2. This article was so great! “Me time” is essential no matter who you are… especially for us stay at home moms!

I agree time to yourself even 15 min is so important. My best metime recently was a gift box a friend bought me. It was full of fantastic soap goodies. To have a quiet soak all to myself was wonderful. She got it from http://www.metimegifts.co.uk
