No Need to Worry

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:30)

Do you ever find yourself saying…

  • How am I going to pay this bill?
  • What will they say about me?
  • I can’t do this without…and I really can’t afford that.
  • Why did this have to happen now?

Worry seems to be a major issue with many Christians and according to the Word, it should not even be a problem.

We are told in Matthew that we are not to worry about tomorrow because it really does have its own set of troubles. That means that there is nothing you can really do about it anyway, so why are you so concerned. Only through the power of God can you accomplish anything.

“Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” (Matthew 6:30)

It is God that provides everything. He even cares for the lilies and grass in the field! Why would He not take care of you?
He created you to have dominion over the very things he clothes. Why would He not care for you?

When we worry, we are telling God that we don’t trust that He can do all things. We are telling Him that He is in essence a liar when he says that with Him all things are possible.

There are many reasons why we worry and each one stems from fear:

  • Fear of not knowing
  • Fear of losing control
  • Fear of being without
  • Fear of having to let go of earthy treasures

Fear gives power to the enemy. It is a spirit that keeps us in a pit, instead of helping us out of it. Fear is the caveat that leads to missed opportunities, walking the wrong path, and missing out on the fullness of God’s blessings.

What we have to remember as God’s Children is that we are not given the spirit of fear.

The word tells us what kind of spirit we do have.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

So when you worry know that it stems from fear and that it does not come from God. He is our shepherd and wants only the best for us. Stop worrying, trust God, and know that with Him all things really are possible!
