Teaching Your Child About Creation

The best way to teach a child about most anything is to show them. Therefore the best way to teach a child about creation and nature is to expose them to it. Take them on a nature walk, point out the different things that God created and share with them the awesome story of creation.

You can then move on to the fact that God created us as humans, how many days it took him, the fact that God said that everything he had made was good and more. You can share each of the stories of Genesis with them in sequence helping them to understand what amazing things God did in such a short period of time.

Children understand a lot more than we normally believe that they can, therefore it is important to share with them the stories of creation early in life, they will gain so much from it and can even share that with others.

Repetition is important when teaching children as well, therefore ask them often about the things that they see on a daily basis and remind them of God’ role in our world. This is how you can also make God a part of their daily lives.

There are also a lot of great songs that you can teach your child about creation that can help them to understand what God did. Using songs is another great way to share things with your child. They can learn them easily and will recall them quickly.

You may also choose to use crafts or other projects to help teach your child about creation. Whatever you choose though they will surely learn much if you make an effort to teach them at all. Making it a daily part of your life and bringing up God in your conversations is a great place to start.
