Christian Movie Review: Traitor

The movie Traitor is based off the life of a Muslim man from Sudan who finds himself in a world filled with terrorists. The movie starts off with a scene of his father being killed by a car bomb. Then cuts to a scene where he is getting ready to sell bomb detonators to terrorists.

This movie does have a lot of violence, and some scenes are most definitely disturbing. Traitor is also a movie based off Muslim traditions and the Muslim faith. In my opinion is was a bit interesting learning some of the beliefs of the Muslim faith because it has made my Christian faith even stronger!

I did not feel that the constant reference to the Muslim faith and religion as offensive, however I did find the violence highly offensive and I do not recommend this movie for children under the age of 18 to see this movie. I am actually very surprised this movie received anything less than an R rating considering the foul language and amount of violence.

All in all I give the movie Traitor 2 out of 4 stars mainly because for the most part it felt like a movie that was bent on proving a political point that not all Muslims are terrorists and they are not by nature murders. Which I feel WE ALL KNOW THIS, but this movie seemed to make this point in EVERY OTHER scene.

Like I said before, as a Christian I walked away from this movie with a clear set of eyes just to how different our religions are. Learning new things about other faiths only serves to help strengthen my faith in Jesus!
