Every Friday I sit down and plan my finances for the week, and if the month is coming close to the end I plan our families budget for the next month. With all the news about the world financial crisis I thought it would be helpful to share weekly financial advice and tips with my readers, based on Biblical principles of course!
So I would like to announce Christian Stay at Home Moms weekly “Friday Finances.” It should be fun and informational so be sure to tune in every week for some fresh new advice, encouragement, and financial tips.
Tip #1: Take Action
I know that with all the media it is easy for everyone to get into a panic when they here about all this bad news. I also know that when your husband’s job hangs in the balance or your life savings is set up to fade away it is hard to not let worry creep in. I know, I have been there before.
My best advice in times like this is to be aggressive NOT passive, and take action. Sit down and seriously look at your spending habits and your finances. I know we often get into the trap thinking that we are doing “everything” when in fact I am sure we could tighten our belts here and there and cut out a few non essentials from our budget. Or we could save more and make a plan for our money.
Taking action means saving more, making a plan, and sticking to it. Try and remember God is your provider, and realize you are the only one in control of your choices.
