This weeks question:
What overwhelms you?

Lately I have been thinking a lot about being overwhelmed. Being overwhelmed with life truly is one thing that I allow to steal my joy. I think the biggest thing that overwhelms me right now is homeschooling. For me right now time just doesn’t seem to be abundant enough to keep up with homeschooling and everything else.

So what overwhelms you and how do you deal with overwhelm?

This weeks question:
What is one way you hope to grow in your faith this year?

I have been thinking a lot about my faith lately, and honestly it is something that I feel God is going to work on strengthening this year. But one thing I have realized is that even though I may think I haven’t been trusting God all that much, I think back on the past few years and realize that our family HAS been putting our faith in Him.

It’s not easy at times, and right now is one of those times. But God certainly wants our commitment to Him and His call on our life. So one way I hope my faith will grow this year is for my faith in the all God has on my life to be strengthened. I really want to BE BOLD and move forward with the message that He has placed on my heart. More and more I am realizing it is a message that needs to be heard and I need to stop being afraid and be willing to deliver that message however the Lord wants me to.

For a long time I have hidden behind a wall of protection and it’s difficult for me to not hide behind that wall right now. BUT I have seen so many blessings come from stepping out from behind that wall, blessings like people coming to know HIM more, and honestly that’s all that matters.

So how do you hope your faith will grow this year?

This weeks question:
How do you feel about this new year?

Typically on New Year’s Eve when the clock strikes midnight I would feel a sense of anxiety about the unknown, and even about the time wasted in the previous year. But this year I had a whole new feeling, a feeling of hope and peace. I’m not sure what changed between the past New Year’s Eve and this year, but I’m thinking it has to do with my word for this year which is FAITH.

In 2012 I plan to step out of my comfort zone of FEAR and move into a place of FAITH. When we release our fear and walk in faith it’s amazing how our HOPE and PEACE comes back. God is good. I am truly blessed!

This weeks question:
How Does Humility Bring Us Closer to God?

After spending a lot of time writing my upcoming new eBook “Walls of Pride” I’ve thought a lot about how pride keeps us from God. I think pride builds a wall around our heart keeping the Holy Spirit trapped inside, and also not allowing anyone else in. I think we do this in order to keep our self safe, but the problem with walls of pride is that we are also not living a life guided by the Holy Spirit. Humility brings us closer to God by removing those walls, and bringing us to a vulnerability that encourages us to lean on Him always.

I think the biggest way God showed His humility through Jesus is by dying. God being above death and not being subject to death died so that we can live. I think it’s amazing and is an awesome representation of God’s humility.

This weeks question:
Is There Humility in Your Marriage?

When we think about the problems in our marriage we may often think about why the other person is creating a problem for us in our marriage. But the fact is our pride can truly be the main stumbling block within our marriage. So my question this week is there humility in your marriage?

This weeks question:
What is Your Favorite Meal to Take to Someone Who Just Had a Baby or Surgery?

This new way of serving others through taking a meal to them has become my favorite way of serving others simply because it has been such a help for my family and I during my husband’s surgeries this year. What a blessing it is to bless someone with a meal…

I typically like to bring soup or chili, or something nice and quick like spaghetti or pot pies.

This weeks question:
What are you thankful for?

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. It’s not about presents, and it’s not even about the food (well it’s not ALL about the food), it’s about family and spending time together.

One thing I’m most certainly thankful for this year is breakthrough and freedom. I’ve been through a lot when it comes to my personal spiritual journey and it does my heart good to see my relationship with the Lord growing deeper. It hasn’t been easy that’s for sure, but the good lessons, the ones that cultivate that spiritual intimacy we so crave with God requires us to dig deep beneath the surface to the wounds that aren’t always healed. This year I’ve learned God is good…all the time. Yes HE is.

What are you thankful for?
