I think one of my frustrations about searching for Christmas cards is that a lot of them do not have any depth. Christmas time is truly a wonderful moment to share your faith with family and friends, and a lot of us do this through Christmas cards. Each volume issued by Seeds Family Worship contains 2 identical CDs in each pack – one to keep and one to share.  It is the ideal way to share the seeds of faith with others!

My Review

This has got to be one of my ALL-TIME favorite CDs ever.  I love praise & worship music.  I love old hymns and music that worships the Lord in new ways.  But singing Scripture is absolutely powerful and effective!  The Scriptures put to music on this CD are cornerstones of faith.

“Eternal Life” is John 3:16 set to music.  Not only is it beautiful to sing – it’s incredibly simple for my young daughters to memorize a basic Bible verses that speak to God’s love for us and His Gift of Christ to the world.  The more we listen to the CD, the more they want to listen to it.  I find myself humming or singing one or more of the songs in my head on a regular basis.  What a lovely way to meditate on God’s Word!

I HIGHLY recommend this CD to you.  I intend to purchase additional volumes to add to our collection.  There are a total of 6 volumes available:

Veggie Piggie in a Blanket

Ingredients:

• 1 (8 oz) package of crescent rolls.
• 16 meat free sausage links

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out the dough and use the perforations to separate into triangles. Cut each dough triangle into two triangles. Wrap a dough triangle around the center of each link, starting at wide end of triangle. Place wrapped piggies on a baking sheet, and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until browned.

Then you can play this silly game:

Feeding Frenzy

Items Needed: Bibs, smocks, or old shirts, and soft food (like baby food.)

How to Play: Divide up into teams. One player does the feeding and the other player does the eating! The one doing the feeding gets behind their partner that is eating and be their arms, and start feeding them. The team that finishes the jar of food first, wins!

The key to having a successful zhu zhu babies family night is to just have fun and use your imagination! Think like a child..

In a culture that promotes self, these songs champion the ideal that Christ lived out as a servant and minister to others, looking outside himself and his own comfort, to meet with others where they were.   With songs like “Give Me Your Eyes,” Heath encourages us to take on a vision of the world that comes from God’s perspective, and not our own.

My Review

Although this album is new to me, as I listened to it the first time, I recognized several of the songs as being familiar to me from hearing them on my local radio station.  The more I recognized them, the more I realized how much I enjoy Brandon Heath’s message.

Even as I listened to songs that had not been released to Christian radio, I was touched by the meaningful lyrics and Heath’s encouragement to live a transparent, open, and broken life for the Lord.  Despite our failings and faults, we know that God is “not finished” with us yet and as we strive to live out our lives for God, He will work through us to touch others for His kingdom.

My Review

As I listened for my first time to each CD, I found that each song built upon the other a worshipful and exuberant praise time with God.   Although a couple of the songs have provided particularly private meaning for me, my greatest joy is to play these CDs as my family & I drive in our van.  Hearing my daughters praise God along with us is profoundly moving and I have been blessed by the focus on God and the attitude of praise and thankfulness these songs encourage.

I have to be careful because there are a couple of the songs that make me want to get up and dance, and I have to tone down my response while I drive;  then there are others that so touch me that my eyes well up with tears and I find myself mentally falling down at the feet of God in pure worship – whether I’m alone or with  my family.

This is praise & worship music as it should be.  Personally moving and corporately worshipful.  I find myself turning to these CDs more than any others – whether I’m at home or not.

For my review I received a lemon pound cake, and a framed scripture verse. When I first opened the box the cake smelled AMAZING, and it tasted even better!

The framed scripture is really a thoughtful gift. I love how you can enjoy the cake immediately, and the framed scripture is something that will last forever. What a unique and thoughtful gift for any occasion!

My Review

I really enjoyed this series and so did all three of my kids. According to the website the message is for 4-10 years, but even my 12 year old sat down to watch the show.

I will say that the impression my kids first got from the DVD cover is that it was for “babies.” However once we started the show they were intrigued for sure.

The message sent within the Auto-B-Good movies is just wonderful. I love how they tell a story where character issues are addressed within the personal relationships the cars have with each other, and then they complete the show with a song about Jesus and how the character issue applies to their relationship with the Lord.

The message of the gospel is spelled out loud and clear within the Auto-B-Good show, specifically through the songs at the end of each show, and it is a message of love and sharing that love with others around you.

I give the Auto-B-Good series two thumbs up! Not even a day after watching the show my son was already asking to watch it again, so I think my kids give it two thumbs up too!

It was exciting when the opportunity arose to do a review of the story time felt because my husband recently said we should find something similar to story time felt to help teach our kiddos about stories in the Bible. I was very pleased with the Time 4 Felt story time felt.

My kids enjoyed it as well. It kept their attention (I have a 5 year old and a 4 year old!) and they still talk about the story and wanting us to do the story over and over again! It’s like reading to them, but better it gives them a more tangible visual to go along with the story.

The “Jonah and the Whale” set included the following:

The kit comes with everything you need EXCEPT for a storyboard. My husband and I had to scour our house to find something we could use for the storyboard. We simply used a blanket made of a material that the felt figures could stick to. You can also easily make a story board at home with cardboard, duck tape, and felt.

I really enjoyed the Story Time Felt product. It’s a great way to teach your kids stories in the Bible. The only draw back is that the storyboard is not included, but that can easily be solved by making your own felt storyboard, which is very easy to do!
