(Read to the end for a chance to win a FREE copy of The Busy Mom’s Guide to a Happy, Organized Home!)
Are you looking for guidance on how to make your home organized and manage your busy life and schedule? Well look no further! I have been blessed enough to recently do a book review for:
The Busy Mom’s Guide to a Happy Organized Home - By Kathy Peel.
In Kathy’s own quest to be a good mom and successful manager of her home, she devised the Family Manager system. It’s based on the idea that the strategies that run any organization or business well will help you run your home well.
I think with today’s busy and hectic schedules, being organized is essential for all moms.
When I first started homeschooling my oldest daughter the first thing I realized was that I NEEDED to get more organized. But learning how to organize our busy schedule did not come naturally. I was confused and overwhlemed and hardly knew where to even start!
The Busy Mom’s Guide to a Happy, Organized Home has been so helpful in guiding me on HOW to organize my life, my home, and my schedule. This book is super organized and easy to follow, and provides tips and tools that are easy to implement.
Kathy Peel has organized the book according to the seven key areas of your life:
- Time and Scheduling - managing the family calendar and daily schedule.
- Home and Property - overseeing the maintenance and care of all your tangible assets.
- Food - meeting the family food needs of your family.
- Family & Friends - fulfilling relationship responsibilities as a parent, spouse, and friend.
- Finances - managing the budget, bill paying, saving, investing, and charitable donations.
- Special Events - planing and coordinating occasions that fall outside your normal routine.
- Self Management - caring for your body, sharpening your mind, and nourishing your spirit.
Whether you feel like you have all the time you need and your home is running smoothly or you’re beyond chaos and need help fast, every mom needs a few tricks up her sleeve and inspiration to keep going. Either way, you’ll find help for getting on the fast track to a happy, organized home in this indispensable guide.
After reading this book I think The Busy Mom’s Guide to a Happy Organized Home is a must for every moms library!

Planning Out My Schedule
September 20, 2008
Last week I wrote about how I would start journaling my Time Management Journey here on CSAHM. Well this week I started working on a schedule.
In the e-book Time Management for Moms - it gives really good instructions on how to plan out a schedule. I actually did what the book said and it worked. I think the main element I was missing before when it came to planning out a schedule is assigning each “to do” to a theme.
For example, the weekend is my time to get errands and house cleaning done. If I don’t get those things done on the weekend then my week feels like complete and total chaos. Well yesterday (Friday) I decided to use the tips I learned and apply it to my to do list for the weekend.
I first just made a list of all the things I would like to get accomplished. Then once that list was complete I divided the items into two different lists, one was for everything I needed to do outside of the house and the other was what I needed to do at home.
I have to say so far it has worked well! It is easier to be able to look at this list and just check everything off, and some how it makes life easier and I am a lot more productive.
All next week I will actually be working on the next step to scheduling and that is to time myself doing certain tasks. I know I always think something is going to take 15 minutes but it turns into 20-30 minutes, or I think something is going to take an hour but it only takes 15 minutes. I know timing myself will really help me to get a grasp on just how long it actually takes me to do something.
If you would like to start your own journey to become more efficient and productive with your time, then pick up the e-book Time Management for Moms today and join me!
