Are You A Mom? Then You Need A Mom Blog

    April 7, 2008

A new form of online communication is a blog.  A blog is a place to share your daily life, thoughts, really anything you want to share with anyone, everyone, or no one. And those people that visit your blog can leave you a comment and tell you what they think of what you have to say.  So if you are a mom then you need a mom blog.

While websites are used to promote a service or product, they are pretty much a one way operation.  This is to say if someone visits a website and would like to make comments, there may or may not be an area in which they can do so.  Blogs are conversations based upon statements made by the blog owner.  Therefore, mom blogs can be the source of inspiring stories; tips or how to themes; or general comments which require responses. There can be mom blogs on how to raise children; themes and craft ideas for the holidays; discussions on health; family issues; product information; referrals; work at home moms, and just about any topic in which a mom would like to receive feedback.

It is a useful and necessary tool for moms to be able to communicate with other moms.

There may be times you are looking for information online, only to discover a traditional website is outdated or does not address your concerns.  Mom blogs cover the gamut; and can be of enormous help if and when you need it. The information provided is in real time, and responses are immediate.

Setting up a blog is much easier than setting up a website. Simply go to blogger.com; register; enter the requested information; title your blog; choose a template; and begin posting. It’s that simple. There are many sites, such as Google, where you can set up a blog site. Once you have it set up, you can email your friends and tell them about it. It’s a good thing, and it’s free!

I don’t know. I still like my websites better. I don’t sell a product or service, and there is a place for my readers to comment on specific things. Plus, my website has much higher rankings and is tons more profitable than any blog I have ever attempted.

But, I do love to READ blogs :) Case in point, I’m here!

I definitely think websites serve their purpose. That’s good that you have a place for people to comment, most static websites don’t have that, so that’s good!

I also think that any blog can be similar to a static website, and may even be easier for non html savvy people build a website of their own for little to no cost.

So I definitely feel there are benefits to both a regular website and a blog. :)
