Great Organizing Tips for WAHMs

June 26, 2008

How tall is that pile of papers on your desk? Do you have papers overflowing from the files? Does it ever take you 45 minutes to find a phone number that you are sure you wrote down somewhere? If you answered yes to any of these question here are some great organizing tips for you.

Everyone knows that having a cluttered desk is very unproductive. Getting organized and staying organized you will become more productive and have more time to spend with the family.

If you are computer-friendly, you may be familiar with the program Outlook. You can use Outlook to keep track of your emails, your daily schedule, your to-do list, client phone numbers and email addresses and more. You can even synchronize your MP3 player to Outlook and keep all of your info with you wherever you go!

For those that are not as technology advanced, you can still get organized by using old-fashioned paper products. If you do not have a planner, get one! There are many kinds of planners to choose from, in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Find one that fits your needs and use it to keep track of doctor appointments, school meetings, your work schedule, etc. Set up a client database to keep track of phone numbers, emails and other information. You can do this by getting some 4” x 6” index cards and a recipe box.

April 15 is a day that many Americans dread – it is the due date for your taxes! An easy way to keep track of recipes is to get a hanging file folder and 12 manila envelopes. Have one envelope for January, one for February and so on. During the month, throw all your receipts in the corresponding envelope. When the month is over, tally up your receipts and write it on the outside of the envelope. That way, when tax time comes, most of your work will already be done.

If you take a little bit of time each day to take care of just a few ting you will stay organized and feel less stress, and get more work done.

Christian Movie Review: Kung Fu Panda

June 20, 2008

“Kung Fu Panda” is a movie about a Panda that dreams of learning the art of Kung Fu. However his dad thinks that he should most definitely move up to owning the family noodle business. This movie is so full of action, and is great at a tale of how a Panda “accidentally” fulfilled his dream of learning Kung Fu with the best of the best.

This movie has a great moral to the story, one every kid should know and keep close to their heart. I am always so pleased to see children’s movies that also appeal to adults with a good story line and some real life humor!

It’s a good thing their is “No charge for awesomeness.” because if their was you would be paying a lot more to go see this movie!!!! I give “Kung Fu Panda” 4 out of 4 stars. This movie is a great family movie. Some Christians may get offended with the slight hints toward the religion aspect of Kung Fu. However it is NOT overpowering, and all in all this movie is great for the ENTIRE family!
